The plan for a youth tournament series had been on my mind for a few years. I guess the final straw was seeing the turnout out an Idaho Pepsi Tournament in early 2024. Youth bowlers lining up from one end of a large bowling center to the other and this was only 1 squad.
Traveling to several SYC events around the country was also a huge eye opener for myself and my family. Huge bowling centers full of youth bowlers, Bowlers participating in multiple leagues every week . And probably the biggest eye opener was seeing the quality of the youth bowlers in eastern states in particular. I had heard so many times that our kids have no chance when we travel to many other states and compete against other youth bowlers. "Guess what?" For the most part these people were correct. In late march I decided to do my part to attempt to turn things around here in Utah. I created The "Rocky Mountain Junior Bowlers Tour" A non profit youth tournament bowling organization to help grow the youth bowling program here in Utah
By giving youth Bowlers more opportunities  to bowl on something other than "House Shots" there skills will grow and at the same time these youth bowlers will earn Scholarship money to use to further their post high school education. Another great thing thing about the RMJBT is that each end every event will be a Junior Gold qualifying event. Junior Gold being the Premier Nation wide youth bowling tournament in the nation. There really is no reason for Utah to not have one of the best youth Bowling programs in the nation. We have Storm Products in our back yard and we have a lot of adult bowlers that love to help. Myself and a group of wonderful volunteers are committed to make this a great experience for all youth bowlers. We are excited to get the 2024-2025 season off to a great start. See you on the lanes
